The Upscale AYCE Move on Spring Mountain

Hwaro sits in the upscale tier of Chinatown's all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue scene, and the renovation locals talk about pushed the room further in that direction: more space, a cleaner layout, less of the elbow-to-elbow crowding the old setup was known for. The draw is the range. This is AYCE built on genuinely strong proteins rather than the padded, lower-grade cuts that sink most unlimited-BBQ rooms, and the kitchen backs that up with sushi rolls and grilled seafood so the table isn't just meat after meat. That combination, quality cuts plus a real seafood and roll program, is what separates the upscale AYCE tier from the bargain version, and it's why the per-person price here reads as a fair trade rather than a markup.

Service gets flagged as a strength too, which matters more at AYCE than at a normal restaurant: someone has to keep the grill changed, the panels swapped, and the order pace moving so the table never stalls. Hwaro appears to run that operation well. The late-night window is the other half of the story. Chinatown's AYCE rooms compete on how late they'll seat a table, and Hwaro holding that late slot makes it a real option for the industry crowd and anyone eating on a Vegas schedule rather than a nine-to-five one.

This is a group meal, not a solo counter stop: order in rounds, work through the marinated cuts before the seafood so the grill stays clean, and treat the rolls as the mid-meal reset rather than the opener. For Chinatown regulars who want the upscale AYCE experience without gambling on a padded menu, this is the room to book ahead for.

Book ahead if going on a weekend, order the marinated meats first while the grill is clean, and save the seafood and rolls for the back half of the meal.

№ 04 · The Verdict

What earns the 7.5

01
Genuine protein quality

The meats and seafood read as real upscale AYCE product, not the padded cuts that define the budget tier.

02
Service that keeps pace

Attentive table management is what makes an unlimited format actually work, and this room seems to have it.

03
Late night access

Holding a late seating window makes this a rare option for anyone eating on a non-standard Vegas schedule.

How we score

The Insider Score is our own 10-point editorial rating, set by the writer who covers the room. It is never an average of other sites’ stars, and it is never for sale. It weighs three things:

01Track record

How highly a kitchen rates, across how many diners, over how long.

02Consistency

Whether recent diners still agree with the long-term verdict.

03Distinction

What the kitchen does that its category does not.

Hwaro earns a 7.5, excellent on our scale for Korean in Las Vegas.
